The City Manager and Kevin Olvany will provide an update as related to the submission of the DEC’s Resilient Watershed Grant.
The Task Force has been meeting regularly and has made some revisions to the Comp Plan Update. A City Council Survey is in progress. Task Force members will provide an update to Council regarding their work to date and plan going forward.
As part of the DRI, the City will need to submit public projects. The City Manager will discuss City Staff’s strategy and intent for projects to be submitted and request feedback from the City Council. Early discussions involve rebuilding and reimagining Pheonix and Coach Streets, public restrooms and wayfinding.
Bids were recently opened for a variety of water distribution system and wastewater collection system parts including pipe, fittings, valves, hydrants, etc. which are required to complete various upcoming projects and maintain City infrastructure. This year the City requested individual unit pricing for items without a minimum bid order. This provides the City with flexibility on purchasing moving forward, as well as aligning our process with how other municipalities function. DPW recommends awarding the bid to Core & Main who was able to provide pricing for every item. Expenditures will not exceed budgeted amounts for water and sewer parts (prebudgeted in operating accounts).
